Scottsdale Artists’ School, a 501(c) (3) nonprofit, was founded in 1983 by a group of dedicated artists and community leaders with a vision to provide fundamental art training to those with an interest and passion for art. Our School, located in the downtown Scottsdale arts district, is a work of art in itself. Listed on the city’s historic register, the building was constructed in 1928 as the city’s second grammar school and features glazed Saltillo tile floors and a distinctive gabled red tile roof, in the Spanish Colonial Revival Style. We feature over 200 diverse art programs and an innovative youth academy and summer day camp. Our faculty and alumni include many of the nation’s leading artists, but we welcome all who have an interest in art—from absolute beginner to seasoned professional.
Mission
The Scottsdale Artists’ School is dedicated to artistic enrichment of the community and to developing the capabilities of artists and aspiring artists of all ages by teaching the applied fundamentals of fine art.
