The mission of the Russian Academy of Art is to teach the fundamental principles, methods and techniques of classical art, the way they have been transmitted over the centuries since the Italian Renaissance.
The teaching method that we use is one that originated 300 years ago, when Russian artists began to develop a teaching method inspired by the works of Renaissance masters, by masters of later art periods in Europe, and by Italian and French schools of art. This method, popularised by artists like Repin, Surikov, Levitan, Vasnetsov and Kuindzhi, is successfully used to this day in art institutions in Russia and we are proud to bring this knowledge back to its European birthplace.
Our instructors are graduates of top Russian academies such as the St Petersburg Academy of Art and are some of the most highly skilled artists in the world. Their unique set of skills and experience allow students to develop highly professional knowledge and skills in Painting, Drawing, Anatomy, Composition, Chromatics, Perspective and History of Art. Students who are interested in studying full-time at the Russian Academy of Art can join classes anytime they wish and at any stage of studies. It’s especially convenient for those artists who wish to improve their professional skills but don’t have the time to study for a long period. In addition, a great variety of part-time art courses, workshops and evening courses are available, both to non-students and students for a reduced price. All classes are taught in Russian with immediate translation to English via our experienced interpreters.
The Russian Academy of Art is established in Florence, Italy, which offers a rich and stimulating environment for the study of art. Here, you are in direct contact with original works by masters such as Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci and Botticelli, who all made their names in this city. The Uffizi Gallery, Palazzo Pitti and several other museums found in Florence all feature among the world’s best art collections.

Best art academy ever. Thanks a lot for gained skills!
About Chubirko, why he left?
– He left because he has a relationship with the young model on side, and it’s prohibited in the academy. Be careful of him.
