THE ACADEMY OF REALIST ART (ARA) is one of a select few art schools in the world that utilizes the academic approach to figure drawing and painting. We model our curriculum and classical techniques and teaching methodologies on those used by the 19th-century European academies, with the aim of helping students achieve the highest caliber of classical drawing and painting skills possible. With Art Schools in Toronto, London, Boston and Edinburgh, we have a truly global offering.
If there is one truth, it is that all master artists understand and execute the Classical drawing and painting fundamentals. ARA’s highly successful, graduated academic process teaches students of all levels to see the objective truths found in nature and the fundamental skills needed to represent them. When completed, our four-level Art school program will enable the student to approach the most challenging drawing and painting projects with confidence and conviction, regardless of their chosen medium or style.
Individual art classes are offered in a friendly and supportive group setting where students can learn at their own pace. In addition, we offer full-time or flexible part-time classical drawing and painting programs for our students.
ARA also offers a number of highly popular one- and two-week workshops in Toronto, Boston, London and Edinburgh, where participants can explore a wide range of subjects, mediums and ideas.
